HEUBACH INTERNATIONAL  15 – 5 PH martensitic precipitation hardening type stainless steel which is designed to be corrosion resistant and hardened through heat treatment. Stainless steel 15 – 5 PH is a modification of 17-4 PH developed in the 1960s. it is also known as XM-12 or UNS S15500.UNS S15500 also has good fabrication properties, low temperature hardening and excellent corrosion resistance, which makes it suitable for many industries. 15-5ph stainless steel is annealing at 1038°C (1900°F) for 1 h. SS 15-5PH is heat treated at 1038°C (1900°F) for 1/2 h, and then air cooled. Grade 15-5 PH stainless steel used in variety of application including Paper mill equipment, Aircraft components, Marine gas turbine compressor sections, Nuclear reactor components, Hallow shaftsSS 15-5PH is the stainless steel grade which is martensitic and hardened with precipitation. However, the alloy is having alloying elements such as nickel, copper, and chromium. The alloy is often used in the aerospace industries with the fasteners and other structural components. UNS S15500 is having the microstructures which are obtained by the alloy with the help of the remelting process.
