Monel is a nickel-copper alloy. Monel 400 is define by the uns numbers UNS N04400/ W.Nr. 2.4360. The Chemical Composition of Monel 400 is contain Nickel 63.0 min. Carbon 0.25 max. Manganese 1.5 max. Iron 2.0 max. Sulfur 0.01 max. Silicon 0.5 max. Copper 27.0 – 33.0. Aluminum 2.30 – 3.15 and Titanium 0.35 – 0.85.The Density of Alloy 400 is 0.305 lb/in.3 (8.44 g/cm3). Alloy 400 has a Melting Range of 1315-1350 °C (2400-2460 °F).Monel 400 has a Tension of 26.0 and a Torsion of 9.5. But, during the processing of this material, it is possible to develop a magnetic layer on its surface.Monel 400 properties is that it gives excellent resistance to corrosion, as well as it offers better hardness and strength.due to its nickel-copper base, titanium and aluminum addition , Monel Metal has increased qualities. An outstanding trait of Monel 400 material is that even at temperatures that are quite low, it is virtually nonmagnetic.Monel 400 is used in a variety of applications such as propeller shafts, pump shafts, bolting and impellers
